Construction of the new world headquarters for Manpower Inc. was completed in fall 2007. The development employs 1,200 people and includes a parking structure, public plaza, and extension of the Milwaukee RiverWalk.
The 22-acre former Pabst Brewery, just west of the Park East corridor, is undergoing a complete redevelopment by Zilber Ltd. into a new neighborhood called The Brewery. In 2007, the City of Milwaukee created a $29 million Tax Incremental District to replace infrastructure, conduct environmental clean-up and make other improvements to the complex.
